John Gunn
Chairman
Company founder John Gunn brings over 20 years of experience in prime brokerage and corporate finance, having led GIS’s business development strategy for more than a decade. Prior to establishing the firm, he held senior roles at Hoare Govett, Carr Sheppards, Assicurazioni Generali and Williams de Broe, developing deep expertise across advisory, distribution and institutional markets.
He has advised companies across private equity and IPO transactions, supporting listings in the UK, Europe, North America and Australasia. His international perspective and commercial discipline continue to shape the firm’s strategic direction, underpinning long-standing relationships built on consistency, discretion and strategic insight.
Sam Esqulant
Chief Executive Officer (CEO)
Samantha Esqulant joined Global Investment Strategy in 2013 and now serves as Chief Executive Officer. With over two decades of experience at Edmond de Rothschild, Barclays Capital, and BNY Mellon, she brings institutional depth to strategic leadership and is respected across the industry.
Working closely with the management team, Samantha helps set direction and execute with discipline, ensuring every decision reflects thoughtful risk management and long-term client outcomes. She leads with clarity and accountability, building a resilient, client-centred business designed to endure
Nilesh Jagatia
Chief Financial Officer (CFO)
Nilesh Jagatia is a qualified Chartered Accountant and Chief Financial Officer of Global Investment Strategy and its group. With more than 25 years of senior leadership experience, he has served as CFO to numerous AIM-listed companies across fintech, leisure, media, real estate, renewables and entertainment.
He also holds the CFO role at Pacific Global Holdings Plc. Nilesh specialises in financial strategy, governance, investor relations and IPO execution, bringing calm precision to complex public-market operations and growth-stage businesses navigating critical inflexion points.
